AgSolutions, Inc. began operation in September of 2003 as a division of Plastic Design, Inc. (PDI). PDI is a privately held company that started in 1989 by three individuals from East Central Illinois. Two of PDI's owners are actively involved in farming. PDI has traditionally been a contract manufacturer working with some of America's most respected companies (Mitsubishi, Harley Davidson, Bell Sports and John Deere) to design and manufacture injection molded and thermoformed plastic components.

The creation of AgSolutions began when a local John Deere implement dealer came to the owners of PDI and expressed a need for new, innovative agricultural products. The PDI owners recognized that this was a perfect fit for their organization - they were farmers plus had the product development team and production capabilities in place to produce these agricultural products. Today AgSolutions has the ability to develop, test and manufacture reliable agricultural products.
